“Reform” is a word used too often by candidates and politicians. It should mean a process of substantive change – change that involves honesty, integrity, and efficiency in government. Instead, it means either nothing at all, as politicians use it to glean votes, or it means helter-skelter cuts in government spending and staffing, change without thought as to the impact, or mere lip service – none of which really improve the level of service citizens expect and deserve from their governments.
At Citizens for Responsible Reform, we also believe in lower taxes, limited government and ethical conduct from elected officials and public employees. We also believe in holding accountable those officials who got elected on a platform of “reform” but who deliver nothing that matters.
Above all, we believe citizens should be able to trust their government. Politicians who award contracts to their friends and family members should be called out. Elected officials who abuse their offices and budgets for personal gain or luxury should be publically identified. Public servants who serve themselves should be dragged into the daylight for all to see.
If you believe these things, too, join us. Tell us who you want to applaud for their Responsible Reform efforts and who should be removed from office for abusing the public trust.
We’re listening to you, and we’re watching them.
